Port Kembla Land Transformation Masterplan, NSW
Sectors: Precinct, Commercial, Education & Industrial
BlueScope Steel | In Progress
Role: Project Director (Slattery)
Provision of cost planning and commercial advisory services to support the development of a large scale masterplan for the transformation of surplus landholdings at the Port Kembla Steelworks.
The project forms part of BlueScope’s long term strategy to unlock approximately 200 hectares of non operational land, representing a once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver one of the largest industrial land transformations in Australia.
The masterplan has been enabled through rezoning of the land to a Special Purpose (SP4) zone, allowing for a diverse range of future focused uses including advanced manufacturing, clean energy, logistics, research and education, positioning the precinct as a national hub for next generation industry.
The scheme is expected to support up to 30,000 jobs and deliver a significant economic contribution to the Illawarra region, while being developed alongside ongoing steelworks and port operations within the broader industrial precinct.
Services included cost planning and commercial input to support masterplan development, feasibility testing and long term development strategy.
