Frasers Property / Sekisui House | Completed 2019

Role: Project Director (Slattery)

Provision of full cost planning and cost management services for the delivery of a major residential development forming the final stage of the Central Park urban renewal precinct.

The project comprises a 13-storey residential building delivering approximately 294 apartments with ground floor retail and integrated childcare facility, positioned on the southern edge of the Central Park precinct and completing the redevelopment of the former Carlton & United Brewery site.

The development includes a diverse mix of apartment typologies, together with resident amenity including rooftop terraces, gymnasium and communal spaces, supporting high density inner-city living within a highly activated urban environment.

The building is defined by a distinctive curvilinear form and highly articulated façade, creating a transition in scale between the Central Park precinct and the finer grain of Chippendale, while forming a key gateway to the precinct.

Key components include a double height through-site link improving pedestrian permeability, integration of a childcare facility and delivery of new public domain and landscaped spaces enhancing the broader precinct.

The development presented technical and commercial complexity associated with integration of new works with retained heritage elements, and delivery within a live, multi stage urban renewal precinct with adjacent occupied buildings and ongoing construction activity.

The project achieves a 5 Star Green Star rating and contributes to the sustainability and urban design outcomes of the Central Park masterplan.
