Provision of cost planning and cost management services for the refurbishment and conversion of Level 5 within the Astral Tower at The Star Sydney into a premium executive lounge facility.

The project comprised the transformation of 44 existing hotel rooms into a high end executive lounge, including bar, meeting and business facilities, positioned within the recently refurbished Astral Tower.

The development delivers a purpose built lounge environment catering to premium guests and business users, incorporating collaborative meeting areas, a private boardroom, bar and hospitality offering, together with supporting back-of-house facilities.

The design integrates high quality finishes including stone and bespoke joinery, with a focus on creating a contemporary, luxury environment aligned with the broader repositioning of The Star’s hotel offering.

A key challenge of the project was the reconfiguration of existing building services and structure to achieve increased ceiling heights and accommodate new layouts within the constraints of the existing building fabric.

The works were delivered within a live hotel and gaming environment, requiring careful staging, coordination and programming to avoid disruption to hotel operations and the gaming floor below.

Procured under a fixed lump sum delivery model, the project was completed over an accelerated programme.
