Provision of cost planning and cost management services from business case development through masterplanning and design development for a major gene therapy and biomedical research facility within the Westmead Health and Innovation Precinct.
The project comprises a multi stage redevelopment of the existing CMRI campus, delivering approximately 28,000m² of laboratory, research and support accommodation across two new buildings integrated with the existing institute.
The development includes advanced wet and dry laboratory environments, PC2 laboratories, biosciences and sterilisation spaces, together with conference facilities, public discovery and exhibition areas and supporting staff amenity.
Key components include an 8-storey research and development building and a 10-storey facility incorporating laboratories, logistics, collaboration spaces and a dedicated discovery centre supporting research translation and innovation.
A number of floors are designed as cold shell with provision for future laboratory fitout, enabling flexibility and supporting the long term growth of CMRI as a leading research organisation.
The project is designed to accelerate translational research and facilitate collaboration between research and industry, strengthening the Westmead precinct as a leading biomedical research hub.
