Provision of full cost planning and cost management services for the delivery of a boutique residential development located on Elizabeth Street in Surry Hills.
The project comprises a 5-storey mixed-use building delivering 23 apartments with ground floor commercial space and rooftop communal open space, positioned on a prominent arterial route on the fringe of the Sydney CBD.
The development is defined by a highly considered architectural response, incorporating a distinctive façade of concrete, ceramic tiles and timber elements, creating a dynamic streetscape that responds to changing light and urban conditions throughout the day.
The design carefully balances amenity and urban interface, with articulated balconies and screening elements providing acoustic buffering and privacy from the busy Elizabeth Street frontage while maintaining natural light, ventilation and connection to the surrounding context.
Key components include well planned apartment layouts, landscaped rooftop communal spaces and activation of the ground plane through commercial tenancies, contributing to the vibrancy of the streetscape.
The project required careful consideration of acoustic performance, façade articulation and urban design outcomes, together with delivery within a constrained inner city site and established streetscape.
