Frasers Property / Sekisui House | Completed 2019
Role: Project Team (Slattery)
Provision of full cost planning and cost management services for a major mixed-use development forming part of the Central Park urban renewal precinct in Chippendale.
The project comprises two interconnected buildings delivering a mix of residential apartments, hotel accommodation, commercial office space, retail and community uses, located at the intersection of Broadway and Abercrombie Street.
The development includes over 300 residential apartments, a 280+ room hotel, approximately 5,000m² of commercial office space, childcare facilities and activated ground plane retail, integrated within a high density urban precinct.
The scheme forms a key component of the broader Central Park masterplan, transforming a former industrial site into a vibrant mixed-use precinct integrating living, working and public domain outcomes.
The project involved retention and integration of heritage buildings, together with delivery of new public domain spaces and a through site pedestrian link, requiring coordination between adaptive reuse and new build elements.
The building form is defined by a highly articulated façade incorporating multiple façade systems and geometries, resulting in key cost drivers associated with façade complexity, constructability and detailing.
Delivered as part of a staged precinct development, the project required careful management of interfaces with surrounding developments, services infrastructure and ongoing precinct operations.
