Connor (Block 8), Central Park, Chippendale, NSW

Sectors: Residential

Frasers Property / Sekisui House | Completed 2017

Role: Project Director (Slattery)

Provision of full cost planning and cost management services for the delivery of a high density residential development within the Central Park urban renewal precinct.

The project comprises a 13-storey residential building delivering 178 apartments with ground floor retail, positioned on a prominent corner site at the intersection of Abercrombie and O’Connor Streets, forming a gateway building within the broader Central Park development.

The scheme includes a diverse mix of apartment typologies, including one bedroom, dual key and two storey apartments, together with rooftop communal facilities and landscaped terrace spaces supporting high density urban living.

The building is defined by a distinctive architectural expression incorporating a copper toned façade with articulated louvres and “lenticular” fins, creating a dynamic external appearance while addressing solar control, privacy and natural light.

The development responds to its urban context by mediating between the low rise scale of Chippendale and the larger Central Park buildings, while activating the ground plane through retail and public interface to support the broader precinct.

Delivered as part of a staged, large scale urban renewal project, the works required careful coordination with adjacent developments, infrastructure and public domain, together with integration into the overall Central Park masterplan.

The project achieves a 5 Star Green Star rating and contributes to the sustainability objectives of the Central Park precinct.
